GREY DRESS AT THE RITZ CARLTON, MAUI
About halfway through our Hawaii trip, we all decided to go have dinner at the Ritz Carlton down the road. All dressed up, we loaded into an Uber XL and headed on our way. By the time we arrived at the hotel for dinner, the sun was quickly setting and we only had a short time to snap a few photos. You could see the sky light up bright orange in the distance, but we could tell we weren’t going to make it down to the beach before the sun dipped below the horizon. Cutting our losses, we stopped right where we were and took a few photos on the rolling green lawn. It almost looked like we were in Ireland as opposed to Hawaii…minus the palm trees of course! 😀
The Ritz Carlton in Maui instantly reminded me of Terranea Resort here in California with it’s beautiful sweeping ocean views and perfectly landscaped grounds. The Ritz also had a feeling of tranquility, secluded from the other busier, bustling hotels closer to the heart of Kaanapali. Chris and I love to hotel hop while we are on vacation. It’s a great way to get more bang for your buck without going over budget. We usually have a ‘splurge’ hotel we stay at during the trip, where we make sure to spend the ‘relax and do nothing’ days of our vacation. Then we book a less expensive hotel on our more adventurous days since we won’t really be spending too much time in the resort on those days anyways. Another great way to explore other hotels is to drop by for breakfast or dinner so you can see experience somewhere new (and often fancier!) than the actual hotel you’ve booked. Luckily my family loves to explore other hotels and branch out for dinners as well, so we were all on board when my dad suggested dinner at the Ritz Carlton. I mean honestly though, who’s gonna say no to that?!
You may remember the black lace dress I posted a few weeks ago before our trip (if you missed it, see it here). This grey lace dress is very similar to that one in material and lace design. Both dresses are perfect for a nice dinner, vacation, or attending a destination wedding! Even on tropical vacations I’m always looking for opportunities to get dressed up, and the Ritz was a perfect occasion for it. This beautiful clutch is even prettier in person with extremely detailed beading. It’s also on sale right now, scroll down to the bottom of the post to get the link!
After we watched the tail end of sunset from afar, we hiked back up to the restaurant for our dinner reservation. The food at Banyan Tree was outstanding. I love eating dinner with my family because everyone loves to order different things and then we all kind of share everything. You basically get to taste half the menu and it’s amazing lol. We were all so full at the end of the meal but heard the dessert special was a strawberry cobbler. My sister and I side-glanced each other as soon as our waiter mentioned it, which we both knew meant we were definitely ordering one. It was delicious and quite possibly the best strawberry cobbler I’ve had in my life. Everything we ordered was great, and I hope to be back here soon!
