POLKA DOT DRESS
Spring is in the air! Well, it has been for a while now I suppose 😀 I’ve loved watching all the North Carolina blooms pop up all over the place here. Chris and I are usually only here visiting for Thanksgiving or Christmas, so now that we live here we are getting to experience all the seasons! We’ve had some gorgeous 80 degree days here and the doggies are loving all their long walks in the fresh (non-polluted) air.
One of my fave brands, Brigitte and Kiki has just added some fresh spring styles this month including this adorable polka dot number. It’s really comfortable (always a must for me) and has a super flattering cut. Yes, I’m still rocking my straw hat with almost everything. I bought it just before Hawaii and have been wearing it a ton now that it’s warmer here too.
In other news, I finally got my sewing machine set-up this past week and I’m so excited to start on some cute summer dresses. My problem is I have too many ideas in my head, and I always want to switch to my next project or idea before I finish the one I’m working on. Hoping to turn over a new leaf and start finishing everything I start- especially with sewing. I’ve been in the fashion industry for almost a decade, but it’s been a while since I’ve been hands on with making my own apparel. I’m thankful for youtube tutorials when I get stuck or forget how to properly sew in a clean zipper. I actually had planned on making my own Easter dress this year, but my sewing machine had a few issues after moving, and I had to take it in to get a tune up.
All my other sewing projects are still in storage, so I’m starting brand new! Hopefully my next style post will be an original by me 😀 We also have a trip coming up that I’d love to sew a few things for as well….I guess I have a lot on my plate! Time to get to work!
