BLUE DRESS IN HAWAII
It’s hard to believe we are already home from our second vacation to Hawaii this year. This time we headed to Oahu for my cousin’s wedding, and then everyone went on to either Maui or Kauai. We decided to visit Maui since my sister and her husband wanted to re-visit their honeymoon island and Chris and I loved Maui the last time we were there as well. If we could hit all the islands in one trip we would, but since that wasn’t an option this trip we followed the majority.
The great thing about Hawaii is- ok one of the many great things about Hawaii- is that California is three hours ahead of them. This means that when Chris and I sleep in until ‘9am’ our time, we wake up at 6am Hawaii time…just early enough to watch the sunrise with a nice cup of coffee. No rushing out the door, no feeling like we are missing out on vacation by oversleeping, and that wonderful feeling of fresh day ahead of you. This trip was extra fun because we were there for my cousin’s wedding. Each morning we’d grab a coffee at the local coffee shop and start our walk along the water. We would usually run into at least two or three groups we knew doing the same walk every morning. It was so much fun!
This beautifully blue Brigitte and Kiki dress was perfect for Hawaii. Lightweight and breezy, with enough coverage to protect me from the sun on our morning walks along the beach. I fully intend on pairing this with some cute fall booties this autumn as well. I was joking with my sister that this hat was my Hawaii uniform. I pretty much wore it everyday, all day. Great sun coverage with the ability to make any outfit ten times cuter…yes please!
This particular morning, Chris and I were out for our usual walk when we came upon this beautiful green oasis along the water. A tiny pathway led from the main sidewalk down to the crystal clear water. I have no idea what this plant is called, but I now want it in our future backyard. I’m guessing it only survives in the tropics, but a girl can dream can’t she?! This is one of those places where you just can’t get over how beautiful it is. The water is gorgeous, yes. The beach is gorgeous, obviously. But the lush greens with beautiful purple flowers leading up to the water?! That is definitely something we don’t have in California, and I can’t get enough of it. If we’re able to, Chris and I are trying to plan another trip to Hawaii later this year….fingers crossed!
