RED DRESS SHOWPO AND PALM TREES IN HAWAII
It seems like it was only a few weeks ago that Chris and I were braving the long and beautiful Road to Hana in Maui. Our adventure was full of ups and downs (which I’ll get into in an upcoming post!) but when we drove by this beautiful grove of palm trees I was like a little kid passing by a dairy queen begging Chris to pullover. It had been a long day winding up and around the beautiful Hawaiian cliff-sides with gorgeous waterfalls every which way you looked. The actual driving was a bit scary, with some spots suddenly turning into a one lane road around blind curves – eek! Chris was as professional as they come- cautious and alert, with a very ‘safety first’ mindset. The older I get, the more I realize how many things could go wrong in situations like that and I appreciate him not only taking the lead on always driving, but I’m also so thankful that he doesn’t take risks when we are in potentially dangerous situations.
I loved this flirty red dress from Showpo. It was perfect to wear as a swim coverup, or on it’s own. I wore a lot of items from Showpo on this trip and overall I was really impressed with the quality for the price. A few items were a touch shorter on me than I would like, but I’m 5’9″ so that’s to be expected with most things! Showpo has so many other red dresses in this same print and they are all so cute it was hard to decide on which one to order!
I wore these Ecco sandals almost every day we were in Hawaii. I even wore them when we went swimming in a waterfall! It made it so easy to navigate the rocks getting in and out of the waterfall pools. That’s why they are so dark in these photos, we had just gone swimming in some waterfalls a few hours before this and the leather was still soaked. Amazingly, they looked perfectly fine after drying off, no leather damage! I just can’t believe how well they’ve held up, and I’ll definitely be packing them for our next trip to Hawaii. I also wore them in Europe last year since they are so comfortable to walk in, and we did a lot of walking when we were there. (These shoes are now on sale!! Click the link at the bottom of the photos!)
Chris and I have already started packing for our next trip to Hawaii, and I am beyond excited to be back in palm tree heaven this week. The lead up time to a big trip can be stressful, but if you start packing early enough it doesn’t seem as overwhelming. Plus, you’ll be able to see any little items you are running out of or need to buy before you leave…you know, instead of realizing it at 3am the night before your flight. Oh my early twenties, how stressful you were for me haha. I still have a few random errands to check off for our trip. We take our camera gear on all our trips, so they’ve definitely gotten a little wear and tear over the years. We’ve lost a few camera lens caps this year, so I’ll be picking those up tomorrow as well as a few more camera cards. Nothing worse than running out of memory mid-day on vacation!
