This summer heat has been all kinds of amazing! Sometimes I forget that after the ‘May Grey” and “June Gloom” comes “July Fry.” Which may sound awful at first, but I actually really love the heat. It doesn’t truly feel like summer to me without the hight temps. During the first true heat wave of the year last Friday, I rolled down my car windows and turned up some country music. It instantly felt like I was back in Michigan, driving down Prospect road to meet up with friends. Ah, nostalgia.
This past weekend I wore another beautiful outfit from Brigitte and Kiki (you can see the first outfit here). This dress is actually a romper with a long, beautifully intricate lace overlay. I loved having the built-in shorts so the wind wasn’t a problem at all. This will be a perfect swim coverup for summer, and I plan on taking it to Hawaii with me in a few short weeks!
And that bag! Not only is it adorable, but it holds so many things! It’s small but mighty 🙂 After snapping a few photos in Palos Verdes, Chris and I went to dinner at Love and Salt in Manhattan Beach. I was able to fit my big DSLR camera and all my normal purse items in there with no problem at all. We first went to Love and Salt for brunch a few months back (that seems to be a trend if you watched my last ‘day in the life’ vlog) and we decided to try it out for dinner per our waiter’s recommendation. The brunch was amazing as well, but the dinner…wow. We had pizza and pasta and it was the best pizza and pasta I’ve had in a looooong time. So fresh, so authentic, so satisfying. It didn’t hurt that we sat a few tables over from Chadwick Boseman (’42’ as Jackie Robinson, ‘Black Panther’, and ‘Thurgood Marshall’). I love Manhattan Beach because it’s a true beach town- laidback, cute and cozy, tons of locals, and great restaurants as well.
Sorry for the photo overload, but this light with this outfit was just too good!! Has anyone else noticed that peonies are everywhere this summer? I found these beauties on super sale at Ralph’s and grabbed four bunches for a total of ten dollars. I remember years back for our wedding there was a shortage and my small bouquet of peonies cost hundreds of dollars….lol supply and demand I guess??
