Good morning ladies! I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend, and are getting back into the groove of the real world. As summer is coming to an end, I was excited to get in one more week of sunshine, beach, and swimming in the ocean. Usually when we visit Florida, it’s only for four days on a long holiday weekend. This time we were able to stay for the whole week after Labor Day too. It was great to actually relax on the trip, knowing we had so many days there to eventually get to all the items on our to-do list. You know, like swimming in the ocean, eating at great restaurants and wine bars, sleeping in….those kind of priorities 😀
Pura Vida at the Beach
You might remember my last post with Pura Vida featuring their beautifully hand-made bracelets (see that post here). I fell in love with the story of their company, and how they are transforming the lives of Costa Rican artisans by the hundreds. Any time a company is making great products and helping others, it’s a beautiful thing. ‘Teach a man to fish’ mentality, where they are helping Costa Ricans build their trade and craftsmanship.
Pura Vida recently expanded their offerings to include bikinis and other beach essentials, and I instantly gravitated to this beautifully bright and colorful swimsuit you see in the photos. It’s perfect for vacation, and makes me want to jet off to the Bahamas or somewhere super tropical. Florida may not be the most exotic destination, but it did the trick just fine for us 😀 The bikini top was a little smaller than I expected, so if you are in-between sizes or can’t decide which one to get, you should definitely size up (I’m wearing a size large).
If you’ve been following along on my Insta-story last week, you saw all my crazy salt water curls that I enjoyed throughout our week in Florida. My hair is normally a bit wavy on it’s own, but these curls/waves were insane- much more like my sister who has gorgeous natural curls with or without the help of saltwater. It was amazing and I wish I could bottle it all up and take it home with me to use every day!
The curls in the photos you see here are from a curling iron, but had I known what the ocean water would do to my locks, I would have gone the natural route and just let the salty waves air-dry into mermaid locks. I’m going to try to track down a sea salt product that can mimic the real deal, so let me know in the comments if you guys know of any good ones to try!
We had so much fun on this trip, I can’t wait to share more posts of our time in Florida! I have soooo much great content coming your way this month, I’m bursting at the seems to share it all with you! The hair tutorial for these beach waves is 95% done, so you will be seeing that here on the blog in no time at all-hopefully end of this week. Thank you guys for being so patient while I figure out this new video software…..slowly but surely, I’m getting there!
